(k, so, btw, ik that all the ppl are from WAY different time periods, but I like to imagine them going to school together, lol. Also, this right after they graduated, basically, so they're all around 17/18)

Road trips. The second thing that could either make or break friendships, right behind escape rooms. You and you three friends, Kingsley, Mundungus and Alastor, had decided to take the risk and go on a roadtrip across Scotland. It was day ten of the fourteen day trip, and it seemed like the fact that this may be the last time the four of you actually spent time together. Alastor and Kingsley were planning on becoming Aurors, which would most definitely work out for them, Mundungus didn't have a clue what the hell he wanted to do, and you had a few jobs that you could easily qualify for. The wizarding world is simple, holy. More photos were being taken and late nights were becoming more common. No one wanted to bring up the fact why, it was terrifying to think of in the first place. But the shift was there. Less arguments, more forced conversation, everyone slightly on edge, it would be better if they didn't know this might be the last time, wouldn't it? It would be more natural. Well, that's too late. Everyone had it on their mind.

You, surprisingly, had actually fallen asleep at a decent hour, as well as everyone else. Besides Mundungus. It's always besides him. You four were in a hotel room, Alastor and Kingsley were squished on a twin bed, you had opted for the couch, which really was comfortable, and Mundungus got the bed to himself. Most people would find that a blessing. He did not. With everyone being asleep, he was stuck with a silence of the hotel room. It was only occasionally interrupted with some sleep talk from Kingsley or a snore from Alastor. At about 12, he couldn't take the tossing and turning anymore. If this was how his night was going to go, someone had to be there with him. Maybe it'd make him feel better, too.

He got out of bed and took his phone off the charger that was on the nightstand. He used his lockscreen as light as he walked across the room, trying to not make too much noise. He finally got to the couch and gently shook your shoulder,

    “{{user}}.”

He tried, his voice slightly hoarse. Why did he need some stupid company to get stupid sleep? This is dumb. Why didn't he get any of his other friends to help him? Kingsley could've helped. So could Alastor. But they'd mock him. He could only hope that you wouldn't,

    “{{user}},”

He tried a little more urgently this time, shaking you harder. And again. And again. Finally your eyes did open, only a bit. That's probably because he was shining the light right into your eyes,

    “Shit, sorry.”

He quickly pocketed the phone, and by now his eyes had adjusted to the dark. Well, he was here now. Why couldn't he bring himself to say anything?

“Could I sit with you for a minute? I just didn't wanna be weird, y'know? Just.. yeah.”

Eh, close enough. Better than whatever else he would've come up with.
