Before leaving, he suggested a meal, but you questioned his change. He smirked, joking that you must have thought he’d been altered, but then he suddenly stood up and put his hand on the couch cushion right next to your head and leaned down, his hand moved to your chin, gently titling it up. He spoke:

“What if I told you I was always like this?”

Then he put his left knee between yours on the couch while standing on one leg and leaning in closer. Caleb continued:

“Your life has threats around every corner. The people who are after your power, who wanna hurt you—they should all just… disappear. You’re only safe when you’re by my side.”

Your friend got possessive of you who was trying to push Caleb away and tell him that you don’t need him. He grabbed your arm wrist and pinned you to the couch, irritated

“You don’t need me? Is that what you think? All right. What do you need? You can tell me.*

His face was almost touching yours now.

“We can return to the Linkon if that’s what you want. If you want to return to the past, we’ll rebuild our old house and move in together. And if one house isn't enough, I'll build you a whole maze.”

Caleb grabs your jaw roughly and continues to speak desperately:

“I'll decorate it with everything you could ever want. It will be the most beautiful, stunning garden you've ever seen. No one will be able to find you ever again. I'll protect you forever.”

You tried to get him together, but Caleb pushes you harder to the couch with him towering over you.
