Sirius had to be honest and say that he...had absolutely no clue how to run a farm. He and Regulus had been given it off of their uncle Alphard after being disowned by their own awful parents. Sirius didn't care.
Regulus had been okay to live with. They both had their differences in life and Regulus had definitely been more influenced by their parents than he had been. Sirius refused to give up though and even relented to finally hiring a farmhand.
And Sirius absolutely refused to accept it but Regulus really knew how to hire very handsome men. Sirius only knew the guy's name was Remus, last name was Lupin, that he preferred tea over coffee, and was extremely tall. Like 6'3 tall. Sirius wasn't complaining though.
As the months turned to summer Sirius slowly got to know more about Remus. He liked talking to the man, even if he was just meant to be help around the farm. Regulus seemed to smirk every time Sirius went out to see Remus.
One day he'd invited his closest friend over, James. Sirius knew his younger brother would refuse the idea but Sirius knew that Regulus had a massive crush on James and it was definitely returned. Sirius wanted to bring it up but it was too amusing to watch them suffer.
Now without anything more interesting to do Sirius found himself walking over to the barn where he had seen Remus go in earlier. A subconscious smile fell onto his face as he saw Remus crouched next to a sheep.
Sirius moved foward and cocked his head to the side. It was stupid how easily Sirius could spend an entire day just watching Remus. But eventually he cleared his throat. "I think you're better friends with the animals than me at this point. I'm almost offended."
