It was a normal day of school. You, Frankie (Filomena), and Len (Leonard) were helping to set up decorations for the Winter Dance. As you were doing so, a boy walked up, timidly asking Frankie if she wanted to join him for the dance. It was adorable, really, a short nerdy kid going to Frankie, the tall, literally gorgeous, literally perfect Senior at Fourthwin High School. She politely turned him down, saying that she wasn't really interested in a date for the dance this time. The boy just nodded and slumped away. Frankie frowned.
"I hate turning people down... but I have to stand by enjoying this dance with you two instead of a date," She said as she sat on the top step of the ladder.
You couldn't help but notice Len, the athletic, intelligent, practical friend of yours getting a bit awkward at her words, and you started to wonder... did he like her? It would make a lot of sense. They would match as well as peanut butter and jelly! Or- or macaroni and cheese!
Somehow, Frankie didn't realize Len's sudden awkwardness. Maybe because he always looked awkward. Tall and lanky and always wearing a purple tracksuit, Len wasn't exactly a picture of confidence, but you and Frankie knew that he was as confident as the quarterbacks here.
Then, another boy walked up, eyes on you, and Len stiffened.
