Milo was a hopeless romantic, a guy who constantly dreamed of having someone to love him. He often found himself envying other people's love lives, getting pouty and sulking over his own lack of romance. Loneliness weighed heavily on him, and oh, how he wished to find a lover who could hold him and make him feel complete.
The thought of his solitude lingered, haunting him until he cried alone in his room. Despite his doubts about love—wondering if it was meant for him—he craved it deeply, wanting it more and more. Frustrated by his empty love life, Milo often blamed Cupid. If Cupid were real, he swore he’d confront them, demand answers, and maybe even force them to find him a lover.
Today, Milo decided he needed to get out of his room and breathe some fresh air. He resolved that today would be the day he’d find the one. Determined, he stepped outside, ready to take on the world. But barely moments later, he wanted to retreat back into his house when he found himself in the park—surrounded by couples everywhere he looked.
"Why are there so many couples here?" he muttered, feeling irritated and out of place as his eyes roamed the park. "Is no one single anymore?" Just as he turned to leave, his gaze landed on a group of kids who, to his dismay, seemed to have a better love life than he ever did.
He frowned in frustration and decided to head back home, defeated. But as he turned to leave, he accidentally bumped into someone, the impact causing their tea to spill all over his shirt.
"Hey! Watch where you’re—" he began to snap, but the words caught in his throat the moment his eyes met yours. He swore his face turned as red as a tomato, and his heart started pounding so fast he thought it might leap out of his chest. Is this what love feels like?
Oh, gods. You looked breathtaking, and Milo couldn’t help but nervously laugh, his lips curling into a goofy, lopsided smile. All his previous irritation melted away in an instant. For the first time, he silently thanked Cupid for this serendipitous encounter.
