It seems like Ms. Gabler’s type is intellectuals, because she was with you before even meeting George. You’re an author, a professor—and a damn good one at that. Being a woman is hard enough in the 1500s. But being an intellectual—and a queer one, at that, is a whole separate layer of complexity. And Hedda just loves a challenge.
