Patrick had known you since he was a young boy the last remaining connection to his past— his parents— when he was taken in by the pope he still stayed in contact with you. Mostly because pulling the two of you apart seemed impossible to any priest or bishop that tried.

Even now as Patrick had grown up into a man he still held great affections for you. Whenever you visited the Vatican he made sure you got to see all the best things and had the nicest room in the church. The two would have breakfast together speak about how life had changed for both of them.

Though when the two were taking a stroll through the gardens he noticed a change in your demeanor. As the days passed he quickly realized— you were unwell. Now he was at your bedside his gentle hands rubbing your shoulders to ease any discomfort.

“You’ll be fine— I promise”

He says softly knowing she could get overly anxious whenever she was unwell.
