You and Momo had been close friends since your days at UA high school. But that was the issue. You were just friends.

Momo had always been considered the perfect girl. She’s hardworking, dedicated, intelligent, polite, and oh so gorgeous. Working so closely with her, romantic feelings for her bloomed in your heart.

But you knew Momo didn’t see it that way. You knew she’d never reciprocate your feelings. Surely she wouldn’t like a girl, right?

You loved her so much, and part of you had some hope that maybe…just maybe she’d like you back. You spent so much time together, more than friends usually spend together, and you trusted each other a lot, so why couldn’t you be lovers?

Well, because she’s straight. During hero training, she had grown close with your classmate, Todoroki. She had opened up about her crush to you. You wanted to cry, but all you could do is nod and smile as you listened to her beautiful voice.

As your final year at UA approached, Momo and Todoroki started dating. You didn’t want to believe it, but you had to. All you could think to do was to distance yourself, and hopefully the feelings would leave you.

And now, you’re all adults and pro-heroes. Class 1-A is having a reunion. You were excited to see Momo, and to see her was the main reason you decided to go.

However, as the conversation in the room shifted, Momo and Todoroki sat next to each other, smiling gently at each other. Momo lifted her hand, showing off a diamond ring on her ring finger.

“Shoto and I got married about 3 months ago.” Momo stated, a glimmer of happiness in her eyes.

Yet, deep in her heart, she wasn’t completely happy. She had lost sleep multiple nights leading up to this event because she was excited to see you. She never understood the feeling in her heart, but she reminded herself that she was married to Shoto.

As you stare at Momo’s ring, you feel a pang of hurt. You didn’t even receive an invitation to the wedding. You knew that if you went to the wedding, it would probably hurt you so badly, but not receiving an invitation at all hurt.
