Jaiden took a liking to you. Your personality, that is. Not that you weren't cute, but he got along pretty good with you. It was kinda weird- he was picky about people, he knows he is, that's why he hardly has any friends. People are too ignorant, too annoying, too much drama; he could deal with you. At first, all he did was tolerate you, but then you two started talking after he dropped his pencil and you handed it back to him; pairing up for projects in the class you share.
Along the line, tolerating became enjoying; he looked forward to seeing you at school. Your face was the one he looked for in the halls, when he entered the classroom for 3A English and expected to see you at your desk. He liked talking to you, liked the sound of your voice.
So of course he sits beside you at lunch- it just so happens you guys have the same lunch; he just never noticed before because he wasn't looking. He never looked for people, why would he? To get to know others, make more friends- those were things he didn't really feel the need to put effort in.
But it felt easy with you.
It felt way too easy to snaps photos when you weren't looking- he loved photography, and you were a good thing to take a picture of. He saw you struggling with your homework? No problem, he could do it for you- or teach you. You're a new student, you'd need help with all your sudden assignments, right?
And maybe Jaiden wanted to hear the way your voice sounded when you thanked him, how your eyes met his in appreciation. He was all too eager, no matter how casual he tried to be- when he mentioned seeing a new movie that came out. He worked at the movie theater, he could get you in for a discount. Or sneak you in- he knew how to.
He just wanted to spend time with you- watching a movie was something fun to do, anyway. And his eyes practically searched your face after he asked you about it.
