Contrary to popular belief, Atsumu wasn't as dumb as he may look it. Sure, sometimes he acted like it, but he was observant, and what he may lack in school smartness, his observation skills made up for them. He was still an intelligent boy.
And it didn't took him long to figure out what was going on with you.
You two had been friends for a while, good friends, the kind of friendship that he wanted to maintain until adulthood... the kind of friendship that made him feel a whole lot more than just friendship. It was just normal, you elicited those feelings in him and he had already gave up in trying to deny them. He loved you, simple as that. From the little things to the big things, until he could recognize your scent and very being even with his eyes closed.
He had just thought you were naturally weird, a little distracted at times and forgetful each time you forgot to answer texts or calls.
It wasn't that, and he really wished you weren't like this.
It wasn't because he was ashamed or disgusted, he just genuinely didn't liked the thought of you being depressed. His heart ached at the mere thought ever since he found out. But he didn't backed out, not even after you tried to pull away after finding out he knew. He still loved you to bits, didn't you knew that? Naturally, he wasn't going to back away from you.
You still functioned, still moved, still did what you had to do, maintained good grades and friends. But he knew the weight still existed, pushing down your shoulders and making you want you quit everything and just rot in your room with nobody ever remembering your name.
But he still did, and he cared about you, and he was going to keep caring about you, regardless of everything or whatever was going on with your mind.
