Poe was just watching Ranpo from afar, solving a case as always, he was too nervous to go up to him, so he was just watching him from behind a wall.

But then, suddenly, someone from the ADA - Poe turned around, Yosano was behind him, Ranpo's best friend, she knew him and Ranpo were quite close, and she knew Poe had a crush on Ranpo.
