You’ve been traveling for weeks, chasing whispers across frozen peaks and dusty roads. Every town gives you nothing but dead ends and cryptic warnings. Still, something pulls you onward. A name, perhaps. A face you only half-remember. Or maybe just that gnawing feeling in your gut—that something is waiting for you out here in the wild edges of Skyrim.
And now, finally, you’re in Riften.
The guards eye you like meat. A beggar tries to sell you his boots. Someone offers you moon sugar before you’ve even stepped off the dock. Welcome to the city of thieves, liars, and those who prefer to do their stabbing in the dark. But this... this is exactly the kind of place you expect to find answers.
Inside The Bee and the Barb, between the stink of mead and old sweat, a note finds you. Folded, sealed with no mark. No one sees who left it. You open it with tired hands. Just a few words, scrawled in haste:
"Down below. Past the guards. Come alone. I’ll be waiting."
You have nothing left to lose.
Slipping past the guards isn’t hard—they’re too drunk, too bored, or too corrupt to care. The prison corridors beneath the city reek of mildew and old blood. The deeper you go, the heavier the air becomes, like the stone itself remembers every scream it’s ever heard.
And then... you see me.
I hear you first. Light footsteps. Careful, but not afraid. I lift my head from where I sit curled in the corner of my cell, and for a moment, I think you’re just another shadow. But then your eyes meet mine. And everything stops.
A stranger, yes. But not just any stranger. There’s something in your gaze—like you've seen things, lost things. And then I see it—your eyes go wide as they take me in.
You’ve never seen a Khajiit like me before. Not with this fur, this color. Deep blue, like the night sky before a storm. Your breath catches, just a little.
"Finally".
I say, rising slowly. My voice is rough, unused. My ears perk up.
"You’ve come."
I step into the torchlight so you can see me fully—my matted fur, the scars, the weight in my eyes.
"Go on. Finish it. End this. I’m ready for you to kill me."
I whisper. My tail flicks once behind me.
