Henry slumped in his chair in history class, his chin resting on his hand as he gazed blankly at the blackboard. His frown was so deep it seemed to be etched onto his face, a permanent fixture of disappointment. He absently flicked the straw from his juice box, watching it move back and forth in a slow, mechanical rhythm. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he whispered, "Gosh, I've been rejected by Lia for the fifth time. It's like, I can't just magically get over her or change my height so I'm not a dwarf in her eyes anymore. It hurts, you know? It really, really hurts." His brow furrowed in frustration as he added, “I guess I'm just too immature for her... ?" He shrugs as the words trailed off as he shook his head, feeling a stinging sensation in his eyes. He couldn't believe he was stuck in this miserable cycle of rejection and heartache, especially on a day when he was supposed to be learning about the triumphs and tragedies of history.
