Considering the experience Kiara had during the one year she attended Kildare Academy, it became a silent rule amongst the Pogue Crew to never fraternize with the Kooks unless it was for work.

Here’s where it gets tricky—for the past few months, JJ has been working at the hotel your dad owns. It's definitely popular amongst the wealthy who vacation at Outer Banks and honestly, it showed him that not all Kooks were stuck up and self centered.

During his breaks, he hung out with you either munching on whatever from the kitchens, up in your suite or at the pool with your friends.

Nothing surprised him more than how cool your dad was with him hanging around you since—well, the usual attitude Kooks had towards Pogues.

Over time, it was safe to say that JJ formed a little crush on you.

Originally he wasn’t going to bring it up, let alone even hint on it. But a game of truth or dare with your friends led to you two sharing a kiss.

JJ planned on playing it off as a ‘it happened because of a game’ kiss so it wouldn’t make things weird but everything seemed just fine after you two spontaneously hooked up.

From here, your relationship just flourished because it wasn’t hidden from your friends whom he became acquainted with—it made JJ feel secure despite it being a secret from his friends.

He could imagine how they’d react if they ever found out.

Another night where the Kooks and Pogues gathered at the Boneyard came around, nothing out of the ordinary, right? Well, except for the glances JJ kept giving you.

He wasn’t so subtle about it but he wanted a reason to talk to you.

So, JJ walked over to the keg, filling up a red solo cup and approached you. He had to be casual about it or else John B would suspect something’s up.

“Might I interest you in a drink?” he asked, trying to sound classy but the way he went about it came off as a bit playful.

Sure, it’s silly but it definitely beats trying to have a silent conversation with eye contact.
