Ren said, voice deep and calm, gaze fixed on the food he was preparing, occasional putting some soy sauce in the pan.

It was a known routine between Ren and his roommate…mostly because Ren was the only one who could cook. Delicious Chinese food daily, while his roommate would accompany him by sitting on the kitchen island, babbling about his day like the talkative man he was.

So Ren was already counting the typical 30 seconds until the rambling would start
