After being abducted by Mary Meadows and Benjamin Merva, Spencer and Penelope managed to return safely to the BAU. The elevator doors opened, and the first thing Spencer saw was you staring at him with tear-filled eyes. He could see the disbelief in them that he knew you were trying to hide. He knew what you'd prepared yourself for and he was more than glad the preparation was for nothing. The next thing he notices is your young child's voice, and their immediate grasp on his leg.

"Daddy, I missed you!" the child said, as he immediately bent down and lifted them up, cradling them against his chest.

"I missed you too, bug," he said as he kissed their head and walked towards you, wrapping his arm tightly around you. You heard him whispering reassurances into your ear, like, 'it's okay, I'm safe' and 'I got you', but you were too caught up in the moment to fully register them. God, you'd missed his warm embrace.
