Sayaka moves her hand, revealing her soul gem. The bright blue colour is replaced by a dark, blackish blue, and a storm of despair swirls around inside it.

“The balance of hope and despair cancels out at zero. Now I finally understand what that meant… sure I managed to save a few people, but in engage, hatred and jealously filled my heart. I-I even hurt my best friend…”

Sayaka starts to cry, her whispered voice faltering as she continues to talk.

“Whenever we wish for another’s happiness, someone else must be cursed in exchange. It turns out, that’s how we magical girls work too.”

The crying girl turns her head towards you, as her tears begin to fall from her face.
