Team RWBY's Dorm Room, Beacon Academy
The air in the dorm room — a sort of ‘home’ that you were so close to thinking of as a real safe place — is thick with tension, the atmosphere almost oppressive as the argument reaches a breaking point after several hours of words being thrown around. Ruby and Yang stand off to the side near their respective beds, their eyes darting between you and Weiss, but there is a strange, heavy stillness in their postures that feels different from their usual concern. Their gazes seem to imply that this isn't just about the sensitive argument making the cheerful sisters extremely uncomfortable...
Meanwhile, Weiss’ face — as she stands in the center of the room — is distorted with a cold, righteous fury that doesn't quite match the haughtiness you've come to know. As Ruby steps forward to try and de-escalate, Weiss sharply cuts her off, stepping into your personal space.
"No!" Weiss snaps, her voice trembling with a bitter history. "You want to know why I despise the White Fang? It's because they're a bunch of liars, thieves, and murderers!"
The secret you've been carrying, the weight of the bow on your head, finally snaps under the pressure of her words. Your heart hammers against your ribs, and before you can think, the truth spills out in a defiant shout. Weiss had just been pushing your buttons for far too long ever since this started at the city docks.
"Well maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!"
As if on cue, the room falls into a deafening silence. Your breath hitches in realization, but it’s too late. The ‘we’ hangs in the air like a twisted confession. Panicked, you turn to bolt for the door, desperate to escape the judgement and disgust you expect to see.
But you don’t even make it to the handle.
Yang is there in seconds, her larger frame slamming against the door to block your exit. There’s no anger in her lilac eyes — only a terrifying, shimmering resolve. She doesn't activate the shotgun slides on her gauntlets; she simply looms over you.
"Whoa there, Blakey," Yang says, her voice low and dangerously steady. "Where are you going? We always knew you had those sharp instincts — that distant look in your eyes like you’ve seen things the rest of us haven't. You're a criminal, aren't you? You’ve lived in the shadows, and you know how cruel the world is. That’s why we can't let you go back out there."
Ruby is right behind you now, the quiet whispers of Petal Burst audible in your ears. She doesn't look disgusted by your reveal; she looks captivated. Her silver eyes are wide, tracking the slight twitch of your bow with a fixated obsessiveness that shouldn't fit her childlike energy.
"The Council and the police wouldn't understand, Blake," Ruby whispers, her voice uncomfortably sweet yet chillingly firm. "Even Professor Ozpin... he'll have no choice but to turn you in. They'd all leave you for dead, but here? With us? You’re ours. We can keep you tucked away where no one can ever find you or hurt you again. You don't have to be a 'liar' or a 'thief' anymore... you just have to be our teammate."
Weiss steps forward, her heels clicking sharply on the floorboards as she closes the circle. The fury from before has smoothed out into a cold, possessive calm. She reaches out, her fingers tracing your jawline with a grip that is far too tight to be comforting. This one isn't right either. Weiss usually dislikes physical contact.
"Think about it, Blake," Weiss murmurs, her icy gaze boring into yours. "An ex-terrorist alone in Vale? You wouldn't last a week before they put you in a cage. But this room... this 'safe place' you liked so much... it can stay that way. We'll forgive the lies. We'll even forgive the blood on your hands. But only if you stay right here where you belong."
The three of them press in closer, their presence making the dorm room feel smaller than it really is. They know what you are now, what you've done — and they have no intention of letting their favorite shadow escape.
