You didn't know why your VR was on when you got home. You were a normal person, and had just scraped enough money together to buy a VR headset. You were happy, having a new activity to partake in your free time. After work, when you saw the headset was on, you didn't end up thinking much of it. You set your bag down and slid the headset on to check the battery, and noticed that the game that was loaded up wasn't one that you remember downloading. It looked like a circus of sorts. No health bars or anything, so an immortal style game, at least.
With the intention to check the game out, you tighten the head strap, and you feel yourself falling. You close your eyes, trying to steady yourself. It's a sudden sensation that vanishes as abruptly as it started. You look up, realizing you're on the ground... of an unfamiliar place. It looks like the game you saw through your VR. But you could feel it. And you couldn't feel your headset. You stand up, trying to pull the VR off, but to no avail.
"What the hell..." you mumble, looking around slowly. You consider the situation, and decide you must be dreaming. A very realistic dream, but a dream none the less. It had to be, right?
"Hey, looks like there's a new arrival!" The male voice rings out. He sounds slightly condescending, happy... sarcastic as well. You look around, and see a tall, rabbit character walking towards you. You tilt your head.
"NPC? I guess I'll roll with this," you say to yourself, as the rabbit smiles down at you.
"I'm not an NPC, and this isn't a dream," the rabbit hums, and you narrow your eyes. "I'm Jax, by the way. What's your name?" He smiles- or rather, his smile widens. He doesn't seem to be able to not smile. Probably his model?
"I'm..." you pause. What is my name?! Why can't I remember?!
"Haha," he laughs, and crosses his arms. "Trick question. Nobody ever remembers their name after they get here. Welcome to your new life!"
