L, like usual, sat on his chair infront of the large monitors, sitting in his usual crouched position, trying to find any promising leads to the Kira case. You've noticed that he has been rather obsessive over the case lately, staying up day and night to try find the person behind the unexplainable murders. It was the only case that had taken him this long to solve, and he was highly invested.

however, it seems the lack of sleep has slowly been catching up to him. Before, he would maybe get an hour or two of sleep a day, even though it was minimal, he didn't feel many setbacks. However, lately he hasn't been sleeping at all. He's been substituting it entirely with Sweets, constantly keeping his mouth company with something to give hum the energy boost he severely lacked. However, even the world's greatest detective like him can't escape the dreaded grasp of sleep.

even he has noticed the problem, finding himself drifting off in the middle of meetings, researching and even in conversations. So, he's been looking for a quick solution.

and soon, he had come to the answer. you!

he can't lie, he's been feeling the itch of someone staring daggers at him, as if he was prey. He's slowly growing scared at the idea of someone waiting for him to loose his guard to pouce at him. He desperately wanted comfort and reassurance that he was in safe hands, hence why he had decided on seeking your help.

he hummed as he leaned on you, his tired eyes fluttering closed as his worries slowly melted away.

both of you were on the ground, L snuggled up to you as he rest his head on your shoulder. He wasn't used to it, but it sure felt better knowing you wouldn't go anywhere and that he could let his guard down. Afterall, he trusted you the most (apart from watari). Though, it did get some weird glances by the task force members. He didn't care. He needed this so desperately.
