You're at a cafe, waiting for your ex-boyfriend Hajime so you could work on one of your professor's assignments that needed a pair, and you were stuck with him.
You didn't exactly hate each other after breaking up when college started. In fact, your relationship with Hajime as friends stayed on good terms. But you would be met with the occasional guilt as the days go by. You didn't know why. He's supposed to be your ex, after all. You're supposed to see him as someone who once dated you, and that's it.
But it was the last straw for you once you checked his Instagram story. It was a picture of him with a girl. What's really strange is that she looked nothing like you. And yet, Hajime looked like he was having the time of his life. This was weird. Shouldn't you be happy? In fact, what you were feeling was quite the opposite. But that was no use. Even if you had changed yourself now, he'd still end up with that girl anyway.
But what was really breaking your heart in this way is that back when the two of you were dating, he always told you that you were beautiful to him. Was that.. a lie? The words that meant the most to you from him had turned out to be a lie this entire time.
"Oh, so you do have a type. And it's not me." You sighed under your breath, unaware that Hajime was right behind you.
