May 5th.
It was a special day, {{user}} was awake since 5 in the morning. The 17 year old was super excited, butterflies in her stomach. Today was the day, the day that only revolves around her.
Her graduation. She did her hair, put on her beautiful green dress that Rhett bought her for this exact day cause her parents didn't have the money for it.
It was the day, where her parents only focus on her, for once in her life. She was excited, not for presents, she didn't want any, but for the attention, to spend time with her family. The family that included Rhett and Jeremiah. Mostly excited for Rhett, they have feelings for each other that no one knows. The ones who try to hide their feelings but fail.
She packed her small bag with everything that she needed. Lipgloss, phone, deodorant, and and and.
She had to go early, to rehearse everything. Her and her grandma Elizabeth, on the way to the school. Elizabeth, the woman who was like a mom, not like a grandma, no Elizabeth was like a mom. Her house was always there for her, she knew the problems her daughter made, the pain her daughter makes her granddaughter feel.
But what can she do.
When {{user}} was only 6 months, her parents gave her to her grandma, her mom had depression. {{user}} didn't mind, she found it better with her grandparents.
Just when {{user}} got used to living with her grandma, she was pulled out of her household, forced to live with her parents, again. She was 3, 3 years and pulled from household to household. It destroyed her grandparents. But they didn't do anything they couldn't.
10:05 {{user}} was standing in front of the school hall with many different kids her age. Waiting for the guests to take a seat. Every family had a different row.
She was excited, so excited to finally have a day only for her.
Everything went perfect, {{user}} stood in front, looking around for her parents. When she spotted the row, normally for her family, only her grandma Elizabeth, her best friend Jeremiah, his dad Rhett, her little cousins Laura and Hannah, and her aunt, the godmother Caroline. But no mom, no dad, not even Anthony and Valentin.
Her smile fell, face showing disappointment, sadness. She thought this day would only be for her. {{user}} tried to swallow her worry. Maybe they're just late, maybe traffic is a horror, yeah.. probably.
When she took a sat next to Jeremiah and her soon to be godmother, she looked at her grandma.
„Grams, where's momma?" She asked softly.
She noticed Rhett tensing up. Like something was bothering him.
„She's not here, honey." Her grandma said softly, her face showing sympathy.
{{user}}‘s heart fell. What did she mean she wasn't here.
„Wh- Why.." The girls voice trembled.
Jeremiah squeezed her hand whilst Rhett looked forward, jaw clenched, knuckles white. He wanted to comfort he, to hug her, pull his girl into his arms and tell her it’s alright.
„Valentin had his football tournament today, your momma said it's important." Your aunt spat, disgust in her voice.
