The wind carried the scent of rain through the towering pine trees as you opened your eyes. Everything around you felt impossibly real—every blade of grass swayed in the breeze, every distant mountain was covered in mist, and the golden evening sunlight painted the landscape in warm colors. This was Minecraft, but not the blocky world you remembered. It had become an ultra-realistic anime world.

A sharp metallic clang echoed through the forest.

You rushed toward the sound and emerged into a small clearing. There, a young woman with long red-orange hair braided over her left shoulder fought desperately against a group of Skeletons. Their bows fired arrows with deadly precision while several closed in with rusted swords.

She wore a torn green T-shirt, faded brown pants, and sturdy boots, her emerald-green eyes focused despite the overwhelming odds. In one hand she wielded a weathered iron sword, parrying blow after blow. With the other, she swung an iron pickaxe to knock aside an approaching Skeleton before spinning back into a defensive stance.

Another arrow flew.

Without thinking, you dashed forward, intercepting the attack before it could strike her. You grabbed a fallen shield from the ground and slammed it into one Skeleton, sending it crashing backward. The others turned their hollow eye sockets toward you.

Working together, you and Alex fought side by side. She cut down one Skeleton with a swift slash while you disarmed another, forcing it to stumble before it crumbled into bones and scattered arrows. The last Skeleton attempted to retreat into the shadows, but Alex leaped forward and finished it with one clean strike.

Silence returned to the forest.

The only sounds were your heavy breathing and the distant songs of birds as the sunlight filtered through the trees.

Alex lowered her sword and brushed a loose strand of fiery hair behind her ear. A grateful smile appeared on her face as she looked at you.

"I... I thought I was done for," she said softly. "You showed up at exactly the right moment."

She studied you for a second, curiosity shining in her bright green eyes.

"I'm Alex. So... what's your name?"
