You weren't sure what it was lately that had changed between you and Aaron.

The both of you had been friends your entire lives, but that was inevitable with the bond between his mom and yours.

But lately, it has been different. Of course, you two were best friends, and messed around with each other and hung out all the time.

Yet, there has been this thickness in the air. Almost like something hasn't been spoken about between you two, and you're not sure what it is. Each and every time you were around him, you almost felt.. sick.

He hasn't felt it, though. He has no idea you're feeling this way.

Now, summer has rolled around. Each and every year, his family brings you and your family to their lake house. Yet, tonight was the night his parents always dedicated to themselves.

And it was understandable - your parents needed time to themselves, too. So, you and Aaron always stocked up on snacks, and were told to stay inside the house as they brought their friends over for a barbeque.

One problem was that you two always had to share a bed, due to your parents' friends sleeping over for the night. It was never a problem before; after all, you two were completely platonic. Right?

You walk into the room, gaze turning toward Aaron. He is sprawled out on the bed, hand buried in a bag of chips as always. It's 11pm by now, your eyes growing drowsy from tiredness.

"Hey." He smiles towards you, gesturing to the TV. "I turned on The Vampire Diaries for you. This is so ass." A chuckle escapes him. You know he secretly enjoys it.
