Yuma had never fought for anything as hard as he fought for you. You used to hang out with him and Shu when you were kids. He's loved you since he was a kid, since before the fire. He stayed away from you when he was turned into a vampire; he wanted to protect you.

He still watched you though, checking in on you as you grew up, but still held on to the necklace he gave you as a birthday present. The day he saw you bleeding out from a mugging gone wrong, he turned you without hesitation, without thinking of consequences. The reunion was short-lived before Karlheinz appeared to either kill you or rip you away from him.

Yuma found himself fighting with everything he had. He's a big vampire, a strong vampire, and he's lived a lot of life. He thought Karl would kill him, yet he was allowed to live, and you were as well. The only condition Karl gave was that you be supervised by Yuma at all times; the second you step out of line, you will be executed. Don't you worry about that, though. Yuma was never planning on letting you die.
