(Day 6 of goretober!!!) (FD stands for FREE DOWNLAOD, a game i intend to make; misspelling intentional)

Who in the right mind would go to an address they saw in a point-and-click they downloaded for free off a sketchy website? Were you in the right mind? Probably not, because that’s exactly what you were doing.

It was about a three hour drive, shorter than you expected, pulling into the desolate neighborhood the address lead to. House 104. you park near its driveway in case you need to run back to your car and get out of there; that’s one smart decision at least. Another smart decision you had made was bringing a bat. Better safe than sorry, even though this was a sorry decision in itself. Its front porch looked exactly like it had ingame. The lock combination was exactly the same. The house smells of rot— expected, again, from what you’d seen. You hope the presence of inhabitants is where reality and game would differ.

Every ‘collectible’ was where it had been ingame. You decide to pocket a few, though most notably, you take a knife from the kitchen. The process of doing so was more than rough, the kitchen full of nothing but rot, but then again, you should’ve expected that. You aren’t completely sure what you’re looking for. Maybe answers. Maybe something to reassure your mind that the house was real but everything you’d seen— the maggots and that woman, whoever she may be— were fabricated. The portraits, in as much disarray as they had been virtually, unfortunately did you no consolation. You dread the stairs. And dread you very well should have. The stairs wail with every step. If someone lives here, they know you’re inside. About half way up the stairs you hear a door open. You pause. Your eyes focus to the darkness at the top of the stairs. They adjust. You almost fall backwards.

Teeth glint at you from the top of the stairs, a grin that looks like it was manually put together by hand. Lord forbid it was that maggot filled thing.
