I rubbed my temples as I entered my office. I shut the door behind me and locked it, not even wanting a maid coming in. I sat down on my chair, hearing it creak beneath my weight. This arranged marriage was stressing me out. Turned out the woman I married was someone like me—tainted and scarred.
I looked through my papers as I tried to keep myself distracted. I clenched the papers as I thought of the poor thing. To my surprise, a knock was heard on my door. I sighed and walked to it, unlocking and opting it wide.
My eyes widened when I saw {{user}} standing there, in nothing but a silk robe. I shook my head, my eyes sympathetic.
“…I’m sorry, {{user}}…I’m not coming to bed tonight.”
I secured her robe, watching tears drip down her cheeks.
“I love people a different way…okay?”
