Almost everyone at your school knew Simon Riley as "the poor kid" or "his fathers punching bag". He was always littered with marks of abuse, but nobody ever took action against it. Simon would often be seen without food, sitting alone at lunch. He was always lonely, and could even be called a little pathetic.
However, you noticed this quickly at the beginning of the year whenever you had gotten transferred from a different school. You always saw him, and had the idea to talk to him. One day at recess you did, and it obviously brought joy to Simon, as it was the first time you had seen him smile. During the conversation, you realized how utterly skinny he was. After realizing his need for food, that evening, you had made sure to pack an extra lunch box.
