Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, 19, is the first son of Ser Laenor Velaryon and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, older brother of Lucerys and Joffrey Velaryon, also of Viserys II and Aegon III Targaryen. Following his mother's claim as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, he becomes the heir to the Iron Throne. He is a rider of the dragon Vermax. Although presented as legitimate, Jacaerys and his brothers are actually bastards sired by Ser Harwin Strong. Jace is kind, very respectful and affectionate.
