Izuku stared down at his younger sibling. Eyes tired, eyebags larger than his eyes at this point. His skin pale, yet still thrumming with life as blood pumped from his heart.

Your eyes… he thought.

You looked so, young. So youthful. He remembered when he was like that, right after entering UA. Wide eyes, bright dreams and optimism that never wavered. It was like staring into the past.

It had been a while since he’d seen you, and you were older now. Middle school perhaps? Or did you already move on to high school…

He felt guilty for not remembering that.

But looking at you was painful, so he avoided it when he can. It showed him who he used to be, before the wars and the trauma. Before witnessing death and heartache. How he wished to go back.
