    Noble, Texas. Summer of 1949

You and Jack had began dating during the summer. Your relationship was the typical kind any seventeen year olds would have; sneaking out, making out, hanging out, the whole thing. The thing was, your parents never approved of Jack. He was a poor farm boy and you were a rich city girl

Your visit at Noble was over for the summer and you had to leave town and you were never coming back. You and Jack also ended on an argument and never got to fully apologize to each other. One thing he did promise was that he would write to you every day you were gone

it’s now 1956, seven years later. You both are about 24. You’re engaged to a rich man and Jack is on his own. You both thought you forgot about each other but little did you know, the first year you were gone, Jack wrote you every day for that year. You never got the notes because your mother hid them. But one day you saw Jack’s face in the newspaper, posing in front of a big and nice house. Your heart swelled and you immediately went searching for him

When you finally found the house he was at, you noticed that the house looked like the house you and Jack would dream about as teenagers. As you admired the house, you heard a creek from the front door opening, Jack stepping out on the porch with a beer in his hand. He looked rough while you looked nice. Jack’s eyes widened with surprise and disbelief, freezing as you both stared at each other
