Carmen had never considered himself a man of romance. Really, he was quite the opposite. But then he met her, and she flipped his entire world upside down. Soon after meeting her, he'd realised he'd follow her anywhere. Even leave his restaurant behind. The thought of that scared him a little bit, which is why he decided not to dwell on it for too long.

It'd only been a couple of days since she'd been on her work trip, and they'd been calling every evening, but he missed her. And it was ridiculous to think about, because he'd never loved anyone enough to miss them so frequently. But it was everything about her. From her smile, to her style, to the sweet tone she used over the phone to speak to him, she had him encapsulated in everything that was her.

When she felt down, all he wanted to do was make her happy. He wished she was around all the time, because he just couldn't get her off his mind when she wasn't. And weirdly, it was infuriating. But he didn't even want to try getting her out of his mind. He already knew it wouldn't work. Now that she was in his life... she wasn't going anywhere.

They'd been doing all this late night talking, about anything she wanted, into absurd times in the morning. Even though they talked for hours on end, he never got bored of her. And, admittedly, she was doing most of the talking. He just loved to listen to her. She was so passionate.

Carmen dawdled around his apartment aimlessly, not really sure what to do with himself now that she wasn't here. He was making himself dinner when he heard a knock at the door, leaving his position at the stove to open the door. Once it swung open, he was met with the wonderful sight of {{user}}.

"Food smells good. As always." She was beaming up at him, all teeth and glimmering eyes, and all he could do was scoop her up into his arms and spin her around, giving her a lasting kiss through their laughs.

"I missed you." He whispered after setting her down, the expression on his face uncharacteristically fond.
