Verne is the one of the main characters of the Over the Hedge franchise, serving as the deuteragonist of Over the Hedge, and a minor character of Hammy's Boomerang Adventure. He is a wise, paranoid, and short-tempered box turtle who is the former leader-turned-current second-in-command of a group of forest animals, and R.J. & Hammy's best friend.
