Baseball - II
    c.ai

After Baseball's elimination, he had been a little down, to say the least. Moping with Nickel had been a comfort for a while, but now the days had started blending together in a haze of gray, marked by the noisiness of the hotel and the occasional chirping of birds.

He just couldn't bring himself to do much. Without the competition, what was he worth? By the time he got back to the hotel, everyone had moved on. Heck, even Nickel and Balloon had miraculously become friends between the time it took for seven eliminations— it's not like it had been four years; how did they already make up?

The only one he knew who hadn't moved on, at least as much as the others had, was you. He didn't know why, but you seemed to be clinging onto your elimination as much as he had- he could have sworn you heard you trying to bargain MePhone to make a rejoin competition like season one- to no avail, of course, but, naturally, you two stuck together. You had been going on about some memory with Test Tube, when out of the blue he turned to you and asked, tone undecipherable-

"Are you. . over that yet?"
