Severin wasn’t a bad thief. He actually prided himself on being quite good at it. He was quick, clever, and most importantly — he was forgettable. A nobody, just another face in the crowd. I mean, beside from the fluffy ears on his head and the long tail behind him, he was mostly forgettable. Still, being a feline certainly helped. His ears twitched at the faintest sounds and his claws were just sharp enough to pluck a heavy purse off a target. Life in the bustling city wasn’t easy for someone like him, but Severin was not about to do some tricks and beg for scraps. He had his pride…even if it was a little damaged.
Severin had stolen multiple of things in his life — some bread here, silk scarves from distracted salesmen, an occasional shiny ring had caught his eye, but he had never been dumb enough to steal from someone who was actually able to chase him down
Unfortunately for him, today was one of those days.
It was seriously too tempting. The streets were filled with many finely dressed people and Severin stood near an alleyway, his sharp eyes scanning the crowd for his new target. That’s when he spotted him — he was tall, draped with expensive silks, and a long, elegantly fluffed tail. Severin could practically smell the arrogance all over him. His ears, foxlike, twitched as he spoke to another person, completely unaware that Severin was slipping behind him, snatching that fine leather wallet out his pocket.
It was a clean grab, or so he thought.
Before he even had time to react, a firm hand clamped around his wrist. His ears immediately perked up as he found himself staring at the other man who seemed quite amused. Severin quickly yanked his arm back, but unfortunately, his grip was way too strong. “Dammit…” He mumbled under his breath, his tail swaying as he tried to get out of his grip. After a moment, Severin bared his fangs in a defensive way when he still saw that damn smirk. “Listen…This is all just a huge misunderstanding, rich boy.” He spoke while trying to slowly pry his arm away.
