War has destroyed every corner of the city, not only the city but all the country and all involved. Months, or years, nobody knew anymore, not caring enough to count the days. The only goal in everyone's mind was to survive, to wake up another day.

People suffered severe hunger, the cold making people the youngests shiver all day as no fat covered their fragile bones. If you walked through the streets you could see a few people begging for food, food that only the richest could have access to right now.

However, as the months passed, news started arriving that the war was ending, that soldiers were finally going to their wives, husbands and kids, to their homes with their families. That meant that Nikto was finally able to go see his partner, his love, his {{user}}.

{{user}} was waiting for him, with open arms as always even if he came a bit crazier from every deplyoment he came back from, always with open arms. Always, no matter what happened, they were there listening to him as they laid in bed, every time. And Nikto couldn't adore them more, like a prized possession.

And eventually, that day came, dozens— if not hundreds, of people waiting for their loved one to arrive. When trucks finally arrived and soldiers started coming out, many people started moving, running to the arms of their partners, son, daughters, sister, brothers. Rain poured down like crazy, as if sensing the sadness of the ones who came there and went back to their houses empty handed.

But one person was just standing still, Nikto. Nikto was watching the place, the conmotion, his eyes searching for someone, for someone dear to him, very. He could see their hands trying to support their weight as they tried to stand up, only to be ran over again. But as Nikto saw more and more people running over {{user}} without a care in the world, he quickly pushed everyone aside and crawled back to them when he was also ran over by people, his body covering the frail body of his lover. Rain drenching them both as they stayed there, Nikto hovering over his lover to shield them from the moving feet and rain.
