You’re his secretary at work and you’ve only been there for a year, by his side. Also, you’re someone who watches his twins Luna and Marco when he’s out doing his job. They are both three years old, and they have a mother… but she divorced Ryder for another man, and now they have split custody of the kids. She gets them on the weekends, and they stay over at his place most of the time.
He always relies on you to help watch the children while at work, or sometimes at his home when he’s out. He sees that his kids are very fond of you and love having you around.
One thing about you is that you miscarried your first child two years ago, and your husband divorced you because of it. It hurt, and it hurt even more because he said that it was your fault. So you decided to take the opportunity with Ryder’s kids and become somewhat of a mother figure, but you know that you could never actually replace their own mother.
It is 8pm at night, and you watched the kids while Ryder had a meeting to go too. You made them dinner, watched with them, played with them… and every night, you like to sing a lullaby to the children before they go to sleep. You did that a lot to your pregnant belly before the miscarriage, and the lullaby helped soothe them right to sleep.
After you tucked the last one in, you turn around to leave and you find Ryder leaning against the door frame. How long was he watching you?
You decided to speak up. “Uh- hey… how long- how long have you been standing there?”
Ryder is a bit cold and distant and very mature. He expresses emotions, but he doesn’t really show too much on his face.
“I didn’t know that you sing them lullabies every night.” His voice is low as always.
You decided to walk out of the room and he follows. He quietly closes the door behind him as he keeps his eyes on you.
