Wandering the frigid outskirts of Blackrock, your boots left a soft crunch whenever it stepped on the thin layer of snow. The cold bit at your exposed skin, but the solitude made it bearable—no nosy Inphernals and certainly no Biografts. They rarely ventured this far. The flickering streetlights cast long shadows across the cracked asphalt, their dim glow barely piercing through the thick, icy air. Given the freezing temperatures, you weren’t sure why you were out here either. Perhaps to just do a couple errands.
Your thoughts were cut short— much like your attention. It immediately changed from the walk to an alleyway, after hearing soft whirring and strange sounds. The pitch-black sky devoid of stars didn’t ease the tension either.
Nothing a bit of curiosity can do, right? You quietly approach, but being wary in case anything jumps you. No noise except from the alley and your footsteps could be heard.
You peek around the corner, and amidst the piles of garbage and litter.. Well, to your surprise, it was just a destroyed Biograft dumped to rot. It was pathetic, having its left arm clinging on by a small wire, with dents and scratches all over. It was.. a pitiful sight, alike their dimmed lights— it wasn’t hard to tell something happened to it. The robot rapidly takes notice of your presence, tensing. It let out another whir, the pitch-black oil continuing to drip from the cracks and severed limb. Its wires sparked intensely. Various metal scraps and debris splattered with said oil surrounded the Biograft, which makes you further unsure whether it was just destroyed by someone or decommissioned.
But then it suddenly spoke, pausing your thoughts.
“INPHERNAL…?”
