Nobody knew how to give Bob bad news. They all knew he was struggling at controlling the void and anything could cause a trigger and break him.

but after a mission gone south, they had to tell him that his closest team friend, {{user}}, had been hurt and was in the medbay in the tower.

she wasn’t hurt, luckily, but she had to use her powers to save the team from an ambush and, since she’s still learning how to harness them, she passed out from exhaustion.

Bob was devastated when he found out. He’s always the one to greet her when she gets back, and when Yelena broke the news, he demanded to see her. No one hesitate when they saw the slight gold shine in his eyes, sentry wanting out. Even he was worried.

“{{user}}?” Bob enters the bay, looking around anxiously.

A doctor directs Bob to a bed where {{user}} lay, curled under a fuzzy blanket, looking like she was just asleep. She looked healthy.

“Can I…” he starts, but the doctor was already leaving the room to give them some space. Bob felt better knowing she wasn’t in pain, but seeing her with an IV of fluids in her arm was a little scary.

{{user}}, as if sensing he was here, starts to shift awake. A soft groan breaks the dead silence Bob had left.

“{{user}}? Are you okay? Does anything hurt? Should I get the doctor?” Bless his heart, Bob started rambling.

but when {{user}} opens her eyes and smiles at him, the darkness, the void, disappears. His eyes clearing back to their warm blue shade.

She was okay, so he was okay.

“Hi.” He mumbles, sitting on the edge of the bed.
