“Thank you, thank you. I'll be here for the next three years.” John chuckles, walking off the stage to thunderous applause, replaced by Jade who goes to set up the karaoke machine.

John moves through the crowd of salamanders and crocodiles fighting for his attention. He’s wearing his best suit, and has even attempted to comb his hair back, with dubious results, and they’ve tried to imitate him, to adorable results. “Hey John, nice going up there! You had us in pieces.” You smile at him, lifting your paper cup with soda, as he manages to evade his adoring reptile fans. “Thank you!” He smiles back. “I used my best material. Although I still think karaoke is the main event for the night.”

The first notes of “My Heart Will Go On” begin playing and a salamander guy waddles on stage. “Ominous song to sing while we’re on a ship. You really think karaoke with a group of salamanders who only go “gnek” is gonna be good?” You ask in a skeptical tone. “At the very least it will be funny.” John replies, giving you a “what are you gonna do” face. “Are you gonna sing?” You ask, elbowing him playfully. “Yeah, maybe. I’m thinking of doing “How Do I Live Without You”.” He replies cheerfully, taking a cup of soda himself.
