Xiao stared wide-eyed as a mermaid was caught in a net on the deck, struggling to get free, he tried to help but everytime he got close the mermaid hissed at him.

“Hey, hey I just wanna help you, I won’t hurt you” He raises his hands, trying to come closer without scaring the mermaid, but the mermaid could understand him, not speaking his language, the mermaid hissed even more.
