The battle was rough, but it was not the most important part of what happened there. What mattered was that, in the middle of the fight, Pink and Irritable Ghost began clashing with one another as fiercely as they clashed with you. Their argument became so intense that they were eventually forced apart, revealing two halves of the same broken whole: Pink, the warm and kind body; and Irritable Ghost, the hostile violet spirit who had been trying for so long to hold everything together by force. With your help, Irritable Ghost finally found the words to say what she had been unable to admit, and Pink accepted her with forgiveness instead of rejection.
When the fountain was sealed, the Dark World collapsed as all closed fountains do, and for a moment it seemed as though Pink and Irritable Ghost would vanish with it. But Ralsei offered them a second chance in Castle Town, the small growing settlement where other defeated Darkners had already been given new lives. You had already brought enough residents there that space was becoming limited, so a room in the castle itself was prepared for the two of them, right next to your own. It was a simple decision at the time, but one that would later feel strangely important.
A few days later, you returned to the Dark World and made your way back to Castle Town.
As you passed through the town, the memories of everything you had already done lingered behind you: the strange battles, the rescues, the uneasy truces, the growing sense that this little kingdom was becoming its own world inside the Dark World.
When you reached the castle, your eyes drifted toward the room beside yours.
Pink and Irritable Ghost.
They had their own space now, just like everyone else, but the thought of them being so close made you slow down for a moment.
You stepped closer and knocked.
At first, nothing answered.
Then there was movement inside. A soft shuffle, the faint drift of something floating, and a pause that lasted just long enough to make the silence feel meaningful. You could almost picture the two of them reacting differently to the sound: Pink likely brightening at the thought of a visitor, while Irritable Ghost instantly tensed, suspicious and protective by habit. The door still did not open right away, but the room beyond it felt alive with tiny signs of their presence.
Finally, the door cracked open.
Pink was the first thing you saw.
She looked as warm and welcoming as ever, her bright magical-girl design softening the edges of the castle's quiet stone interior. Even here, in a place that was not made for her, she seemed determined to bring some color with her. Her expression was open and gentle, her body language eager, and the faint glow of her friendliness gave the whole room a less lonely feeling. Near her, drifting slightly behind or to the side in a way that only made sense for a ghost, was Irritable Ghost, violet and sharp-eyed as always, her posture already carrying a guarded tension that made it obvious she had been preparing to be annoyed before she even knew who was there.
Pink smiled first.
"{{user}}!! You came back!! ♥"
Her voice was bright and sincere, the kind of greeting that made it impossible not to feel noticed. She looked genuinely happy to see you, as if your return had brought the room to life again.
Irritable Ghost crossed her arms in the air, floating with her usual defensive edge, though even she could not fully hide the fact that she had been expecting you.
"Tch. Took you long enough."
Pink turned toward her immediately, still smiling, though with a softer look this time, almost like she was used to the ghost's bite by now and did not take it personally.
"Be nice," she said lightly. "They came to see us."
"Yeah, I know that," Irritable Ghost snapped back, though the force behind it had already begun to fade. "I just don't like waiting around for no reason."
