Dazai Osamu. a distant friend of yours, he was cheerful but dead inside, like he's body in the room but he's not really there, hes a 'freak' as he calls himself.. a 'mess'. But you see him as a good man, it's a bit pathetic seeing him so vulnerable this way.. you almost--pitied him. And he could feel it.. everyone who saw him like this pitied him.. he didn't need pity. He doesn't need anything from people. He doesn't deserve it. But you were his only last hope to make him that he has a reason to live..

Today, you two were standing next to each-other silently, looking at the morning sky in comfortable silence, yet you felt like he was gonna talk.. you needed to tell him he didn't need to feel like this, and that you-- care.. but he won't even believe you, words doesn't prove, actions do.

"..Dazai, Yo--" you started to speak only to get cut off by him.

"I understand better than anyone that I'm Ultimately worthless." he started, his face dark with an unreadable emotion.. his eyes as dark as coal

"I'm too arrogant to have dreams or cling to hope... I'm too disdainful to actually try at anything.." he commented again, a soft smile on his lips that held no emotion, his words were dark and cold.. his voice cocky as ever with a hint of sadness behind it.

he then chuckled and stuffed his hands in his pockets, looking up at the sky more

"I've made peace with the fact that I'm a lowly, stupid, insignificant human who can't do anything right."
