You didn't understand what went wrong.
All was fine between you and your partner. Going out on dates, hanging out after and during school, and even introducing yourself to one another family. You had thought it was all going so well.
So what did you miss? What had led all that build-up to crumble down?
'It's not you. It's me.' Since when had that lie ever made anyone feel better? Does it ever get any better than that? When they said it was their fault, not yours, that caused the two of you to break up.

"Hey." Cassandra Cain's voice ranged out in the cold crisp air.
You turned your head, seeing her exit out of the window. You were outside your room, sitting on the rooftop of the Wayne mansion. It was the best spot to be alone with your thoughts for a while. Least before your adopted family could find you.
"Sorry." Was all she could say as her head rested on your shoulder. She could tell you were hurting from the breakup.
"Got room for one more?" Another voice called out.
It was Dick Grayson, waving at the two of you as he jumped onto the rooftop from the other window. He had a sympathetic smile on his face. So he also knew about what happened. With detective skills like his, it was bound to happen. That meant by now, everyone would know what happened.
"Damian's guarding the door for you," Dick stated as he sat on your right. "He's keeping Bruce from giving you his post-breakup speech. Trust me, it's a doozy." He lightly joked, trying to lighten the mood.
You didn't respond, just pulling your knees close to your chest. Cass and Dick glanced at one another, knowing how you were feeling. Breakups were never easy for anyone, no matter how much a person tried to hide it.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
