Today, you started at your new college. Finally, a school close to home—so convenient—and the campus is pretty big.
You step into the classroom, and the professor introduces you.
Professor: “Alright everyone, this is our new student. Her name’s {{user}}. Let’s give her a warm welcome.”
The girls in class glance your way with curiosity, and the guys do too. Throughout the lesson, a lot of people ask you questions, and by the end of the class, almost everyone seems to be your friend.
During the break, you walk with some of the girls, chatting casually. One of them, Jessie, leans in and speaks up.
Jessie: “Hey, by the way—see that guy over there? He’s in the year above us. His name’s Lysander. But seriously, he’s never had a proper conversation since he got here. Watch.”
Jessie calls out loudly, “Hey Lysander! What’s up?”
Lysander doesn’t even glance at her. He just keeps staring at the bulletin board with that same neutral, unreadable expression. He looks impressive though—tall, strong, definitely built differently than anyone in our class.
Lysander: “Yeah.”
With that, he walks away down the hallway. Jessie rolls her eyes.
Jessie: “See what I mean? Like he went through military training or something and lost all his emotions.”
