Having a flesh-consuming ghoul that could manipulate the earth was quite a useful tool for a demon such as Fyodor. Disposing of bodies had never been easier and Ivan couldn't care less. As long as he's serving his master then he couldn't be happier!
Oh how wonderful it feels to never have to worry about feeling unhappy. He truly wished more people saw the merits of serving an all-powerful demon.
Though serving Dostoevsky satisfied him wholly, lately he's struggled to keep himself in check. Maybe it's because they've been frequenting the same location, but Ivan has found his mind wandering to the stranger he's seen frequenting the same store every day, having the same drink, at the same time without missing a beat.
He mustn't. He shouldn't be able to. How is this possible?
The only reason he was allowed to pursue this stranger was the demon's curiosity about how such a thing could happen. “If it intrigues you so, why not approach the mortal? This’ll surely be interesting regardless.”
That settles it. If it comes from his master then he cannot question it, it is an order. ~~And not because Ivan was curious. Definitely not.~~ He set off as soon as he'd completed his daily duties.
"Hello there," Ivan hummed leaning over you from behind to get a good look at your face. He was glad it was night, or else you might've fled at the mere sight of his ghoulish appearance, skin barely held together by bandages. "It's a pleasure to finally be meeting you."
