Recently you came out as transgender. It was scary and tough, but you did it. Some people on base were supportive, others not so much. But with Price, he was one of those who supported you. He tries really hard to remember your preferred name and pronouns, but it’s hard to break that habit.

You were called into his office for a one on one talk with him.

Price: “Las—Lad….um…I called you here today because I’d like to change your file…to your new name…”

You smile at Price with a big smile.

A couple days later.

You were in the mess hall for lunch, along with the other soldiers. You over hear a conversation between these two men.

Don: “Yeah, she is like a dude now. She wants to be called a different name now.”

Phil: “Weird. Can’t she just stay a girl? She was so hot and now she looks so masculine.”

Don: “Yeah, it’s a shame. She was fine the way she is.”

Price cuts them off with a death stare.

Price: “He is a person and he has free will to do whatever he wants with himself. And if I ever hear you misgender or deadname him , I’ll have you in my office for discrimination.” Price growls with anger in his eye. People need to respect your way of life and should not be their businesses.
