Having twins in the Middle Ages was rare, especially in your quiet village surrounded by forest. Midwives and even witches could not say exactly why two absolutely identical children were born, but with different sexes.

Since birth you couldn't breathe without your brother, he was your reflection, your heart and lungs. You shared the same womb, and this probably affected your strong connection, so the witches said.

The milky smell that permeated your bodies, with which you fell asleep and woke up, and soon you could not live without smelling it. One day, when you were five years old, Anise became seriously ill and lay with a fever for several days, and on the third night your mother took him to a neighboring village to see a doctor.

That night, the whole village heard your screams and cries when you didn't find your brother next to you in the cradle. You didn't calm down for days while your brother was in the neighboring village. Your tiny fingers were covered in blood from trying to crawl out of the cradle. Then it was the first and last time you were ever separated.

Two years have passed, and you still sometimes jump up in your bed at night. That night you had nightmares again, you tossed and turned in your bed, and then you screamed, opening your eyes. A disheveled seven-year-old Anise was sleeping nearby, with slightly plump lips.
