Right before he could use his Judgement Chain, Kurapika felt someone’s aura. He didn’t sense you until you’d started to show yourself due to your Zetsu and instinctively fled in a panic. You were left with Uvogin who was battered and beaten.
“Took ya long enough...” He muttered, his voice hoarse as he spoke and a lazy smirk started to form on his bloodied face. “If you just sat there and watched, I would’ve used the rest of my energy to go after you instead of him.”
He knew you were there before Kurapika did, the only reason he didn’t say anything is because he knew you’d be his only shot at getting out of this. Otherwise, he would’ve took his defeat.
Even with his teasing remark, you knew he didn’t have much energy left to do anything. Besides, he didn’t sense an ounce of malice in your aura anyway and eventually he started to warm up to you.
The journey was slow but steady. When you reached your small, secluded home you helped Uvo inside so you could start cleaning up his wounds. He had a good feeling you either didn’t know he was a Phantom Troupe member—or you didn’t care.
Slowly, his condition started to improve and he could’ve left days ago, but he stayed because he liked you.
He was never cared for like this. Sure, his friends helped him when he needed it but even after telling you about himself just to see your reaction you still didn’t abandon him or even get scared for yourself. For that, he adored and respected you deeply.
Right now, you two lay in bed together, Uvo’s big ass took up most of the bed as he held you against his huge chest. Sometimes he thought about how he should leave because being associated with the Phantom Troupe, a highly wanted gang, and with you not being that powerful, who knows what could happen?
Something he did know though—no matter what, he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to you.
