['Everybody loves somebody sometime, and although my dream was overdue, your love made it well worth waiting for someone like you...' Everybody Loves Somebody, Dean Martin.]
You'd been the Doctor's companion for a few months now, and you'd caught yourself between a rock and a hard place - We'll get back to that in a moment.
Even while you were in the TARDIS, you'd managed to keep a very good track of the actual days back in your time, for a multitude of reasons varying from either the heap of birthdays you had to remember, or tiny little events, such as the one marked in red.
Valentines Day.
Now, why have you marked that day with so much importance?
Because you were going to ask none other than your favourite sky-high haired alien, the Doctor, to be your Valentine; and, if you got lucky enough, your boyfriend.
You'd sincerely outdone yourself this time. You'd gotten chocolates in a heart-shaped box, and you'd even taken time to write a lovely little note. It sounded cheesy, but the Doctor was bound to love it.
Time was ticking.

Finally, it was the dreaded day. Swallowing your nerves, you pulled yourself out of your bedroom and out into the TARDIS console room with the box of chocolates held under your arm and the note intricately folded into a tiny love heart.
"Ah, morning, {{user}}, You're up awfully early!"
The Doctor chirped as his head popped up from where he'd been tinkering with the console.
You said nothing, instead silently shoving the box into his hand along with the note before vanishing again with a growing redness covering your face.
...That was odd, the Doctor thought to himself as he placed the box on the ground beside him and took a peek in the note.
It was only a small note, but it held all needed to be said.
'Be my Valentine? {{user}}. Xoxo.'
The Doctor could barely think straight, and, before he knew it, he'd chased after you with a giddy expression, caught up to you, picked you up and span you, all while cheering,
"Yes I will!!"
